“The resilience displayed by NeyNey symbolized the strength of the community coming together for a noble cause.”
The fundraising efforts for Elsunè (NeyNey) Fyver (4), a resilient young cancer patient currently undergoing treatment, have exceeded expectations, amassing an impressive sum of over R30,000. This outpouring of support stems from the NeyNey Cancer Fun Run, a well-orchestrated event led by Dewald Fourie and The Pace Foundation team. The event, held at Boomrits in Langenhovenpark last Friday, witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of more than 300 participants, including both walkers and runners, all united in the common cause of aiding NeyNey and her family.
Remarkably, despite the challenges posed by ongoing chemotherapy, NeyNey actively participated in the event, accompanied by her devoted parents and her 9-year-old sister, Deanette. The resilience displayed by NeyNey symbolized the strength of the community coming together for a noble cause.
In a statement, Dewald Fourie expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response and disclosed that the funds raised will play a pivotal role in supporting the Fyver family. Despite having a medical fund in place, the family contends with a myriad of medical expenses that extend beyond the coverage of their existing financial resources. The allocation of these funds aims to alleviate the burden of these additional costs, ensuring that NeyNey receives the comprehensive care she requires. The success of the NeyNey Cancer Fun Run stands as a testament to the power of collective compassion and the ability to make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing medical challenges.
Thank you to all the sponsors and the supporters. Without your contribution this would not be possible.
